Therapeutic massage helps to heal the body. In particular, I can potentially help you with injury recovery, muscle pain or restricted mobility.
Once you are feeling pain on a regular basis, then getting treatment is no longer a luxury, but rather a priority. There are many different types of therapy you can turn too, and different ones will suit different conditions. My style of Thai massage is particularly effective at releasing blockages and tension in the soft tissues, i.e. muscles, tendons, and the fascia that surrounds them. I don't work directly with the skeleton or joints, although of course everything in the body is related and the muscles affect them.
The Thai approach, like many Eastern branches of medicine takes a holistic view. For example, if you come to me with knee pain, I may work on the whole leg and hip, reducing any areas of tension. Many of my clients come to me when the Western doctors are baffled and cannot understand the problem. I analyse less and instead simply feel for blockages and tightness, then try to release them. Once the body returns to its natural alignment and circulatory system is free, then your natural healing mechanisms start working effectively, and you naturally return to health.
Please be sensible.
- If you have a serious condition or are currently being treated, check with your GP before massage.
- Wait for any swelling or high temperature to subside before massage - then I can work to release accumulated tension and regain normal mobility.
